Sodus Cold Storage Co., Inc. was established in 1914 by a group of local farmers and businessmen whose main goal was to provide the area growers with a warehouse to store their produce for market to New York City and other North East major cities.  It was also built to provide an icing station for produce shipping by rail from the Midwest.

1930 introduced SCS to the "Frozen Food Age" with its first freezer rooms.  In conjunction with Cornell in 1937, SCS successfully converted its first room into Controlled Atmosphere storage.  To this day, we pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of the fruit which comes out of these rooms.  SCS acquired its second facility in 1963 in the nearby town of North Rose, NY.  This gave SCS an additional service to offer local growers in Controlled Atmosphere long term storage.
SCS has continued to expand, constructing freezer and cooler space as our market grew.  Today, we can offer 3 million cubic feet of freezer, cooler, and convertible space to meet your every storage requirement.  As the years have passed, the most effective insulators and refrigeration equipment and Warehouse Management Systems have been installed to make your experience with SCS the most cost effective in the industry.

In the 1990's, we entered into the refrigeration transportation business and continue to offer asset based transportation services to our customers.

The evolutionary updating of equipment and services, along with implementing the latest in computerized warehouse management systems was, and will continue to be, a major commitment of present management.  We pride ourselves in employing the most dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced personnel, enabling us to efficiently handle all of our customer's logistics needs.
